What We Believe

What We Believe

We Are Anchored in

Salvation by Grace

We believe that salvation is a work of grace, wholly accomplished by the Triune God, not by our works or efforts. It is through the unmerited favor of God that we are saved, solely through the work of Christ.

  • The Father, in His infinite love, elects and sends the Son to redeem us.
  • The Son, through His perfect life, sacrificial death, and victorious resurrection, redeems us by His precious blood, securing our salvation.
  • The Holy Spirit, sealing us with His presence, guarantees our eternal inheritance and empowers us to live in the fullness of God’s grace.

Together, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit work in perfect unity to accomplish our salvation and to secure our identity in Christ. It is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, that we are made new and reconciled to God.

Baptism

We believe baptism is an essential act of obedience commanded by Jesus. While it does not save, it is a public declaration of repentance, faith in Christ, and commitment to follow Him. Through baptism, we identify with Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection, symbolizing the burial of our old life and the new life in Him. Baptism is a covenantal act that unites the believer with the body of Christ and the mission of His Church. We celebrate this moment as the beginning of a lifelong journey of discipleship.

The Scriptures

  • We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative, and trustworthy Word of God.
  • It is the final guide for what we believe, how we live, and how we grow in our relationship with God.
Gifts of the spirit
  • We believe that the Holy Spirit gives diverse gifts to every believer for the building up of the Church. We affirm and acknowledge all the gifts of the Spirit as found in Scripture (1 Corinthians 12:4–11).
  • We believe that speaking in tongues is a biblical gift and should be exercised in order and with clarity, in accordance with the teachings of Scripture (1 Corinthians 14). All spiritual gifts are to be used in love, humility, and for the glory of God.

Pentecostal Identity
  • Freedom Life Church embraces a Pentecostal identity—we believe in the ongoing work and empowerment of the Holy Spirit, including Spirit baptism, spiritual gifts, and a vibrant, Spirit-led worship life.
  • While rooted in Pentecostal conviction, we honor and welcome theological diversity within the body of Christ, recognizing that unity in Christ is greater than uniformity in perspective.
The Person and Work of Christ
  • We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God—fully God and fully human. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose from the dead, and now reigns as Lord.
  • Through His death and resurrection, He offers salvation, forgiveness, and new life to all who believe.
The Church

We believe the Church is the body of Christ, called to worship, fellowship, make disciples, and share the Gospel. It is a community of believers who live out God’s love and serve the world with the message of hope in Jesus Christ.

Discipleship
  • We believe discipleship is the lifelong process of growing in faith, following Jesus, and becoming more like Him.
  • As a church, we are committed to equipping and empowering believers to live out the Gospel, make disciples, and serve others in love.
Christian Living and Holiness
  • We believe that Christian living is a call to reflect the character of Christ in every aspect of life.
  • Holiness is God’s standard for His people, empowered by the Holy Spirit, as we seek to live with integrity, love, and obedience to God’s Word.
Christ’s Return

We believe that Jesus Christ will return in glory to judge the living and the dead, and to establish His eternal kingdom. His return is our hope, and we live in anticipation, ready to meet Him.

Human Dignity, Justice, Mission
  • We believe every person is created in the image of God and is worthy of dignity, value, and respect.
  • We are called to love our neighbours, seek justice, and serve the marginalized. Our mission is to proclaim the Gospel in word and deed, demonstrating God’s heart for reconciliation, compassion, and hope in a broken world.
Our Trauma-Informed Commitment

At Freedom Life Church, we recognize the deep impact trauma can have—emotionally, spiritually, and psychologically. Whether from personal loss, societal injustice, or hidden struggles, trauma affects how people engage with faith and community.

We are committed to being a safe, compassionate, and healing space for all—especially those navigating the effects of trauma.

As a trauma-informed church, we affirm these guiding principles:

  • Understanding Trauma: We acknowledge trauma comes in many forms and affects people in different ways. We seek to listen, understand, and respond with care that supports both immediate and long-term healing.

  • Safety and Security: We prioritize a safe and welcoming environment—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—where people feel protected and respected.

  • Healing and Restoration: We believe in the power of God to heal and restore. Our approach is rooted in the gospel and addresses the whole person—body, mind, and spirit.

  • Supportive Community: Healing happens in relationship. We offer spaces for connection, counseling, mentorship, and care.

  • Confidentiality and Respect: We honor the courage it takes to share personal stories and commit to creating a non-judgmental, confidential space for healing.

  • Equipping Leaders: Our pastors, leaders, and volunteers are trained to recognize trauma and respond with sensitivity, wisdom, and appropriate support.

  • Cultural Awareness: We affirm the dignity of all people and recognize that trauma intersects with culture, race, gender, and lived experience. We commit to care that is equitable and inclusive.

At Freedom Life Church, we believe God’s love transforms. We are dedicated to walking with people on their journey to wholeness and renewal.

We believe healing happens in the presence of God and in the context of loving, supportive community. You are welcome here — to heal, to grow, and to walk in freedom.

Freedom Life Church is a Spirit-led, Christ-centered, and community-rooted church committed to helping people experience freedom, healing, and transformation through Jesus Christ.
